What a weekend for the U14 girls who put on a great display of soccer in Limerick in what turned out to be the group of death! They finished third in their group and ninth overall, missing out on a place in the semi-finals by one point.
At half past nine on saturday morning June 2nd we got our Gaynor Cup off to a start. This game unfortunately didn't go our way as we were beaten 4-1 by a strong Clare side. Aislinn Carroll was the scorer with a fantastic free kick from 20 yards out. We then went on to play Limerick , which we won 2-0 a great game, which gave the girls a great boost after loosing both Hollie O'Shea and Aislinn Carroll due to injury. Goals came from Abbie Robinson and Allie Hanway.
In the evening it was Donegal who put up a strong battle in terrible conditions, both sides took a point from this game with a 0-0 score. On the day all the girls put in a great effort and never once dropped their heads. Sundays game was against Cork in the ninth and tenth place play-off. We drew 1-1 in the game, goal scored by Orlaith O'Brien. We won the game on penalties with our goalkeeper Clodagh Glavin saving three vital penalties.
